Job Description

LabCorp is seeking a Clinical Lab Technician to join our team at Highlands Hospital in Sparta, TN.
Work Schedule:
3rd shift; 5:00pm-5:30am Thursday, Friday, and every other Saturday and Sunday.
Job Responsibilities:
Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures Monitor, operate and troubleshooting instrumentation to ensure proper functionality Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving. Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary Assist with processing of specimens when needed Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's degree in a Chemical or Biological science,
Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology Preferred Qualifications:
1 year or more clinical core lab MLT experience 1 year or more clinical blood bank MLT experience ASCP or AMT certification
Additional Job Standards:
In lieu of education requirements listed above, non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may meet education requirement Ability to work independently and within a team environment Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus High level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skills Able to pass a standardized color blindness test Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs At Labcorp we have a passion in helping people live happy and healthy lives.
