Description Additional Information About the Role Are you looking for a Clinical Pharmacist Specialist opportunity supporting patients in an inpatient environment? Our experienced team at Missouri Baptist Medical Center is growing and is seeking a specialist to support our dynamic internal medicine and inpatient multidisciplinary team. This is great opportunity to work with our world-renowned medical professionals and improve patient care and services. PGY1 residency required . PRN 1 Weekend a month requirement Additional weekday and weekend options Overview Missouri Baptist Medical Center , an acute care hospital in St. Louis County, offers a full continuum of medical and surgical services, including heart care, cancer, women and infants, breast health, gastrointestinal, orthopedic, stroke, therapy, wound and pain management services. The hospital has a 24-hour adult emergency department and cares for pediatric patients at a separate emergency department in collaboration with St. Louis Children's Hospital. Missouri Baptist is the first and only hospital in St. Louis County to be named a Magnet® hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). The prestigious designation is the highest credential a health care organization can receive for nursing excellence and quality patient care. This recognition has been accomplished by less than nine percent of hospitals nationwide. Additionally, U.S. News & World Report ranked the hospital #2 in the St. Louis metro area. The Inpatient Pharmacy at Missouri Baptist Medical Center consists of a Central Pharmacy including a Class 10,000 Clean Room for sterile product preparation and satellite pharmacies in the Operating Room, the Cancer/Infusion Center, and satellites or decentralized pharmacists on several inpatient floors. The hospital uses Pyxis Connect digital order imaging, medication bar coding, an electronic medication administration record, and Alaris Guardrails ''smart'' IV pumps. The department utilizes Pyxis medstations for distribution of 90% of medication. The Pharmacy program at MoBap also administers an ASHP-accredited pharmacy practice residency program. Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose Evaluates and recommends appropriate drug therapy to achieve optimal cost-effective patient outcomes, by working directly with physicians, other health professionals, and patients. Participates in the development, provision and evaluation of comprehensive pharmaceutical care and quality assurance programs through scholarly activities. Serves as a resource to the pharmacy staff and other hospital departments. Responsibilities Assess the overall status of the patient's health condition and evaluates medication profile for optimal patient outcomes. Monitors therapy and goals of care. Documents all activities and communication as appropriate. Participates in professional development and research activities. Contributes to performance improvement, clinical effectiveness, drug use evaluation, and HSO/BJC committee activities. Participates in the education and training of pharmacy staff, residents and students, and serves as a role model and mentor. Participates in the identification and implementation of targeted drug cost reduction programs. Minimum Requirements Education Doctorate - Pharmacy Doctorate - Pharmacy Licenses & Certifications Medication Therapy Srvcs in MO RPh Preferred Requirements Experience
