Position Overview:
As a Clinical Social Worker, you'll play a vital role in the assessment, treatment, and overall care of our patients. You'll conduct thorough assessments, develop and monitor individualized treatment plans, and provide both individual and group therapy. In this role, your work will directly impact the safety and well-being of patients, ensuring they receive the highest quality care while preparing them for successful reintegration into the community.
Key Responsibilities:
Assessment & Diagnosis:
Conduct comprehensive assessments and collaborate with the treatment team to develop and monitor personalized treatment plans.
Therapy & Intervention:
Provide individual and group therapy tailored to meet the needs of each patient. Perform critical suicide and crisis risk assessments and interventions to ensure patient safety.
Discharge & Community Support:
Coordinate discharge planning and connect patients with essential community resources to support their recovery and reintegration.
Safety & Security:
Maintain the safety of the facility by inspecting for security breaches, observing patient behavior, and intervening as necessary to prevent injuries or escape attempts.
Professional Development:
Engage in continuous learning and development by participating in meetings, committees, training sessions, and research projects.
Qualifications:
Licensure:
Possession of a valid Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) license issued by the California Board of Behavioral Science. Unlicensed individuals may be appointed but must secure licensure within the specified timeframe.
Education:
Master's degree from an accredited school of social work, approved by the Council on Social Work Education.
Skills and Abilities:
Expert Knowledge:
Strong understanding of clinical social work principles, particularly in relation to mental, developmental, and physical disabilities.
Collaboration & Communication:
Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and collaborate with community and family agencies. Strong communication, report writing, and analytical skills are essential.
Special Requirements:
Physical & Emotional Resilience:
Must have the physical and emotional stamina to manage stressful situations effectively.
Security Responsibilities:
May be responsible for the control of patients or inmates and the protection of property.
Drug Screening :
Must pass a drug-screening test as part of the employment process.
