Job Description
Clinical Supervisor At Zaif, our mission is to deliver tailored, culturally sensitive, and accessible holistic care that honors immigrant and refugee's unique needs and journeys towards healing. The Clinical Supervisor is a licensed behavioral health professional responsible for providing clinical oversight, mentorship, and support to the agency's clinical staff, including licensed clinicians, trainees, and certified mental health professionals. This role ensures high standards of treatment quality, ethical practice, and compliance with Washington state behavioral health regulatory requirements. The Clinical Supervisor also plays a key role in shaping clinical policies, training programs, and outcomes-focused practice improvements. The incumbent will be expected to actively contribute to the agency's culture of continuous improvement, provide leadership in clinical decision-making, and ensure consistent quality of care delivery across programs. Clinical Supervision & Oversight Provide ongoing, outcome-focused clinical supervision to licensed staff, ensuring adherence to professional standards and scope of practice. Review and conduct periodic chart audits of client records on clinical documentation, treatment plans, client progress, and case conceptualization to ensure ethical, effective service delivery. Facilitate regular supervision meetings (individual and group format) based on supervisee needs and agency standards. Monitor supervisee caseloads to ensure appropriate workload, risk management, and client safety. Ensure clinical services and supervision practices comply with Washington Administrative Code (WAC) requirements applicable to behavioral health agencies Ensure client files contain all required documents and all clinical documentation is completed in a timely manner and stored appropriately in accordance with confidentiality and HIPAA regulations Monitor provider licensure and credentialing compliance Maintain oversight of staff training and onboarding requirements Review and approve clinical forms, templates, and documentation tools used by the agency to ensure they algin with state regulations, professional practice standards, and agency policies. Assist in preparing documentation and materials required for state audits, licensing reviews, or program monitoring visits. Direct Clinical Services Provide direct behavioral health services including individual, family, and/or group therapy to children, youth, and adults as appropriate to the clinician's scope of practice. Conduct comprehensive behavioral health assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and treatment planning. Develop individualized treatment plans that align with evidence-based practices and client goals. Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation, including progress notes, treatment plans, assessments, and discharge summaries. Provide crisis intervention and risk assessment when necessary, including safety planning and appropriate referrals. Collaborate with multidisciplinary providers, case managers, schools, and community partners to ensure coordinated care. Ensure services are delivered in accordance with professional ethical standards, agency policies, and applicable Washington State regulations. Maintain a manageable caseload that allows sufficient time for supervisory, compliance, and administrative responsibilities. Training & Professional Development Develop and present clinical training modules for staff on evidence-based practices, assessment strategies, debriefing, and professional topics. Support continuing education efforts and professional growth plans for clinicians. Stay current with best practices, clinical supervision models, and relevant state regulations. Program & Policy Leadership Collaborate with leadership to implement clinical policies, performance improvement initiatives, and quality assurance measures. Provide expert input into client care strategies and program development. Ensure supervision practices comply with all relevant Washington State Department of Health and Behavioral Health regulations. Consultation & Coordination Serve as a clinical resource for crisis consultation, complex cases, documentation review, and ethical dilemmas. Consult with psychiatrists, physicians, and other senior providers as needed. Maintain appropriate lines of communication with leadership regarding supervision outcomes and clinical quality.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.Minimum Requirements:
Licensure & Credentials To serve as a Clinical Supervisor as defined under Washington State WAC for behavioral health support supervision (e.g., BHSS and other staff), the candidate must hold one of the following Washington credentials: ✔ Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) ✔ Licensed Advanced Social Worker (LASW) ✔ Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) ✔ Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (MFT) ✔ Licensed Psychologist ✔ Licensed Physician (e.g., psychiatry) ✔ Psychiatric Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (ARNP-Psych) ✔ Physician Assistant with appropriate scope (or other Washington credentials demonstrated to assess, diagnose, and treat behavioral health conditions) Supervision Experience Proven track record of clinical supervision, mentoring, or oversight in a behavioral health setting. Experience supervising staff with varying levels of licensure and clinical experience. Demonstrated ability to provide outcome-focused supervision appropriate to supervisee's training and experience.Training / Competencies
Documented training or competency in clinical supervision (e.g., supervision coursework, CE hours). Strong knowledge of ethical standards, scope of practice boundaries, and professional credentialing requirements.Communication / Leadership
Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to lead teams, facilitate professional development, and model ethical clinical practice. Commitment to culturally responsive, client-centered care. Regulatory Compliance Knowledge of Washington state behavioral health regulatory requirements and expectations for supervision as outlined in applicable WAC chapters (e.g., clinical supervision requirements for BHSS and licensed clinicians). Preferred Qualifications Two or more years of post-licensure clinical experience in behavioral health care. Previous leadership or supervisory responsibilities in a community behavioral health agency. Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams.Hiring Process:
