Summer Intern Program Upbound Group's 2026 Summer Intern Program offers an immersive professional development experience that goes beyond traditional internships, providing participants with a comprehensive opportunity to grow both personally and professionally through dynamic networking events, engaging volunteer activities, and exclusive executive leadership speaker sessions. Interns can anticipate a robust learning environment that balances structured training modules with self-paced learning pathways, enabling them to explore their potential, develop critical skills, and gain meaningful insights into corporate culture. Program Dates The ten-week program will run from June 1 to August 7, 2026 , and is an in-office experience at our company headquarters in Plano, Texas. Overview We are looking for a CloudOps Engineer Intern to help modernize and automate core CloudOps responsibilities using Agentic AI and Agentic AI Workflows—AI-driven processes where autonomous agents can reason, plan, use tools, and execute multi-step tasks with minimal human intervention, while still operating within defined guardrails. This internship is designed as a hands-on engineering role where you will build practical automations that reduce operational toil in areas like incident response, cost analysis, anomaly detection, reporting, governance, CI/CD support, and infrastructure-as-code workflows. Your mission is to apply Agentic AI to real Cloud Engineer day-to-day workflows, helping the team move faster, operate more reliably, and reduce manual effort—without compromising security, compliance, or operational control. Key Responsibilities Build Agentic AI Workflows for CloudOps "Day-to-Day" Tasks Design and prototype agentic workflows that can assist with (or partially automate) common CloudOps tasks, such as: Cost analysis & variance explanation (e.g., drivers of month-over-month change) Cost anomaly detection triage (adding context like recent changes, new projects, deployments) Incident response support (accelerate investigation and shorten time-to-resolution) Reporting automation (convert raw data into more meaningful narratives and summaries) Governance and operational workflows (identify automation opportunities, recommend guardrails) Access request workflows that require IaC changes (example: mapping permissions/security groups and running implementation jobs) Vulnerability remediation through IaC driven by findings from tools (e.g., AWS Advisor, Orca) DR execution/validation support and runbook improvements Developer support "ticket-to-fix" automation across common intake channels (e.g., ServiceNow/Jira patterns referenced in team workflows) Qualifications (Top Requirements) Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field. Strong interest in Cloud Engineering / DevOps / Automation (AWS/Azure/GCP exposure a plus).Preferred / Nice
-to-Have Skills Scripting/programming familiarity (e.g., Python) and comfort learning new APIs/tools (useful for automation and agent tool-calling). Familiarity with IaC (Terraform and/or CloudFormation concepts). Familiarity with CI/CD concepts (pipelines, logs, deployments). Curiosity and willingness to learn responsible AI practices and governance.
