The CNA will provide essential support to patients and residents across various healthcare settings, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care, with experience in diverse clinical environments and a commitment to delivering high-quality service. Responsibilities Assist patients and residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance. Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration, documenting findings accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems. Support medical staff by preparing patients for examinations and procedures, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or memory impairments, implementing appropriate behavioral health strategies. Administer medications and treatments as directed by licensed healthcare professionals while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations. Operate medical equipment such as Hoyer lifts and assist with patient transfers safely and efficiently. Maintain detailed medical documentation and ensure all patient records are accurate and up-to-date in EMR systems like Cerner or eClinicalWorks. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in acute care, long-term care, hospice, or outpatient settings to deliver comprehensive patient service. Requirements Valid CNA certification with current licensure in the applicable state or region. Prior experience working in diverse healthcare environments including hospitals (Level I Trauma Center experience preferred), nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home care settings. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support (BLS). Experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks for medical documentation purposes. Familiarity with infection control practices including aseptic techniques and DME (Durable Medical Equipment) handling. Ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities or behavioral health needs; experience in dementia or Alzheimer's care is advantageous. Strong communication skills coupled with the ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced clinical environments such as ICU, PICU, or urgent care clinics. Demonstrated caregiving skills with compassion for senior care and pediatric populations; experience in medical-surgical or post-acute care is desirable.
