Responsibilities Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility, and feeding to promote comfort and independence Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature, accurately documenting patient information in electronic health records (EHR) systems Support medication administration under supervision or as permitted by certification, ensuring proper handling and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, utilizing memory care techniques and ensuring a safe environment Operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts and wheelchairs safely to prevent injury and promote mobility Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures like catheter care or wound management to prevent infection Collaborate with healthcare teams in acute care settings like ICU or emergency departments to deliver patient-centered care aligned with medical protocols Assist with patient transfers, positioning, and comfort measures in accordance with safety standards and care plans Skills Proven experience working in diverse healthcare environments such as hospitals (including Level I Trauma Centers), nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home health settings Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and infection control practices including aseptic technique Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation Ability to perform vital signs measurement and basic life support (BLS) procedures confidently Experience caring for individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs is highly valued Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate compassionately with patients of all ages—including pediatrics and geriatrics Ability to handle sensitive information securely following HIPAA guidelines while maintaining professionalism at all times This role is perfect for motivated caregivers eager to expand their expertise across various specialties such as ICU, emergency medicine, hospice care, or post-acute settings.
