Job Description:
Key Responsibilities Lead the development, validation, and optimization of advanced CNC programs for multi-axis mills, lathes, and laser cutting equipment. Establish best-in-class CNC programming standards, including toolpath strategies, feeds and speeds, and machine utilization. Develop and implement standardized setups, tooling solutions, and work instructions to reduce setup time and improve repeatability. Serve as the subject matter expert for CNC machining, providing technical leadership in complex programming and process challenges. Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing cycle times, increasing spindle uptime, and improving operator-to-machine ratios. Analyze machining processes to identify bottlenecks and implement solutions such as automation, advanced tooling, and optimized cutting strategies. Lead new product introductions by developing efficient, scalable CNC machining processes and ensuring design for manufacturability (DFM). Collaborate closely with estimating, design engineering, and production teams to optimize part manufacturability and cost. Partner with maintenance to improve machine reliability, preventative maintenance strategies, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). Monitor and drive performance metrics including cycle time, scrap rate, tool life, and OEE. Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for machining and quality issues, with a strong focus on process capability. Provide training, mentorship, and technical development for CNC programmers, manufacturing engineers, and machinists. Supervise and develop CNC engineering and programming teams, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Foster a culture of technical excellence, accountability, safety, and continuous improvement. Ensure all CNC processes comply with AS9100 and customer-specific requirements. Maintain comprehensive CNC process documentation, including setup sheets, tooling lists, and program revision control. Support internal and external audits through strong process control and documentation traceability.
