CNC Lathe Machinist Job Description We are seeking a skilled CNC Lathe Machinist to join our high-mix, quick-changeover machining team in Hillside, IL. This role is ideal for a hands-on machinist who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has strong experience in performing machine setups, changeovers, and on-the-floor programming. You will play a key role in producing precision components while maintaining efficiency and minimizing downtime. Responsibilities Complete setups and changeovers on CNC lathes for short-run and high-mix production. Program and edit CNC lathe programs directly at the machine using G-code programming. Load tooling, fixtures, and raw materials to meet job specifications. Interpret blueprints, job routers, and technical drawings to ensure accurate production. Conduct first-piece inspections and in-process checks using precision measuring instruments. Make necessary offsets and adjustments to maintain tight tolerances. Troubleshoot machining and program issues to minimize downtime. Maintain production efficiency in a quick-changeover environment. Follow all safety and quality procedures and maintain a clean work area. Essential Skills 3+ years of CNC lathe machining experience in a production environment. Ability to perform setups and changeovers independently. Experience programming CNC lathes at the machine. Strong blueprint reading and GD&T understanding. Proficiency with measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-mix/low-volume environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Proficiency in using Fanuc and Haas machines. Experience with Mastercam software. Why Work Here? Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
