CNC Lathe Operator

Responsibilities Operate CNC lathes using Mazak control systems to produce precision parts according to detailed drawings and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards. Conduct precise measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines to ensure parts meet strict tolerances. Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and adjustments on CNC lathes to maintain optimal machine performance. Read blueprints and technical drawings accurately to interpret dimensions, materials, and assembly instructions. Use hand tools, power tools, and tooling to assist in inspection, or secondary operations as needed. Follow lean manufacturing principles to improve workflow efficiency and reduce waste in the machining process. Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols. Experience Proven experience operating CNC lathe machines in a manufacturing setting. Knowledge of GD&T principles for precise measurement and quality control of machined parts. Mechanical aptitude with basic math skills for calculating dimensions, feeds, speeds, and tolerances. Ability to read blueprints accurately and interpret technical specifications for complex components. Experience working with precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and bore gauges. Understanding of lean manufacturing practices to promote continuous improvement in machining operations. Strong safety awareness with knowledge of proper use of hand tools and power tools. $15.00 - $19.00 per hour
