Job Description

Overview We are building a next-generation automated CNC shop focused on lights-out manufacturing and continuous process optimization. We are looking for an elite CNC machinist with experience on advanced mill-turn platforms—specifically the
PUMA 2600SY II
with live tooling and counter spindle - who can program, set up, and run machines end-to-end. This role is for someone who takes pride in solving difficult manufacturing problems, improving cycle times, and building reliable, hands-off processes. You will work with modern CNC equipment, advanced tooling strategies, and automation systems to produce high-precision components while helping develop a fully autonomous machining workflow . Ownership & Profit Sharing We are building a high-performance, employee-driven CNC shop . Machinists who contribute to improving processes, automation, and shop performance will participate in profit sharing and long-term ownership incentives . Responsibilities Program, set up, and operate CNC mills and lathes for high-precision production. Develop and optimize CAM programs and machining strategies to improve cycle time, tool life, and reliability. Interpret complex blueprints, GD&T, and technical drawings to manufacture tight-tolerance parts. Select tooling, workholding, and cutting parameters for a wide range of materials. Perform first-article validation and in-process inspection using precision metrology tools. Troubleshoot machining processes, tool wear, vibration, and dimensional variation. Continuously improve machining processes for lights-out and unattended operation . Maintain machine performance through preventative maintenance and calibration. Collaborate on automation, fixturing, and process improvements that reduce human intervention. Contribute to building a high-performance, engineer-level machining culture . Requirements Strong experience programming and operating CNC mills and lathes . Experience with CAM software (Mastercam, Fusion 360, or similar). Deep understanding of tooling, feeds & speeds, workholding, and machining strategies . Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and GD&T . Experience working with Fanuc or similar CNC control systems . Proficiency using precision measurement tools (micrometers, bore gauges, CMM, etc.). Strong troubleshooting skills for machining issues such as chatter, tolerance drift, and tool wear. Mechanical intuition and hands-on problem solving ability.
