CNC Machinist - 1st Shift Job Description The CNC Machinist will be responsible for executing all facets of production machining to deliver high-quality products efficiently. This role involves operating and maintaining both vertical and horizontal CNC lathes and machining centers, with tasks often requiring work from blueprints. The CNC Operator will also ensure tools and gauges are properly maintained and will be expected to produce at a minimum of 80% efficiency. The role includes maintaining machine cleanliness, completing daily production control charts, and supporting compliance with quality policies and procedures. Responsibilities Operate and maintain vertical and horizontal CNC lathes and machining centers. Work from blueprints to ensure precision in machining. Maintain tools and gauges, ensuring proper care and maintenance. Produce at a minimum of 80% efficiency. Ensure all materials meet or exceed quality requirements. Maintain machine cleanliness. Complete production control charts daily. Support compliance with quality policies and procedures. Essential Skills Proficiency in machining, CNC mill, and CNC lathe operations. Experience with precise measuring tools. At least 1 year of CNC machining experience. Ability to set up machines and troubleshoot. Additional Skills & Qualifications 1+ year of experience in CNC setup and troubleshooting. Why Work Here? Work Environment Work in a non-climate-controlled shop with a smaller team of about 30 employees across two shifts. The first shift runs from 5 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Thursday, with potential for additional hours on Fridays as needed. Occasionally, there may be weekend work once every few months. The environment includes a generous point structure for attendance and conduct. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Platteville, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $27.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
