CNC MACHINIST
$28/HR TO $32/HR

!! Job Description The CNC Machinist sets up and operates CNC machines to produce high-quality precision parts in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role works directly from blueprints to determine job requirements, selects appropriate materials and tooling, and ensures that all finished components meet strict quality and dimensional standards. Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC machines, including mills and lathes, to produce precision parts according to specifications. Work directly from blueprints to understand job requirements, materials, tooling, and machining processes. Load raw materials and parts into CNC machines and secure them properly before machining. Adjust machine settings, offsets, and tooling as needed to achieve required tolerances and surface finishes. Monitor machine operation during production runs and make real-time adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency. Perform in-process and final quality checks on finished parts using precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers. Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve basic machining and equipment issues to minimize downtime. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with shop standards and safety procedures. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production schedules and continuously improve processes. Document production activities and quality results as required by shop procedures. Essential Skills Minimum of 2 years of previous CNC machining or manufacturing experience preferred. Proven ability to set up and operate CNC machines, including CNC mills and CNC lathes. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings accurately. Proficiency in blueprint reading for dimensions, tolerances, and machining requirements. Ability to use precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers for quality checks. Basic computer skills to interact with machine controls and production documentation. Solid basic math skills for measurements, conversions, and machining calculations. Strong attention to detail to ensure parts meet exact specifications and quality standards. Effective troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve machining and equipment issues. Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds as needed in a production environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Previous experience in a manufacturing or machine shop environment. Experience performing machine setups, including tooling selection and offset adjustments. Familiarity with both milling and turning operations. Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to process improvements. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing to a team-oriented environment. Work Environment This position is based in a manufacturing facility operating CNC mills and lathes in a production shop environment. Multiple openings are available on first shift from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, with additional work available on Fridays, and on second shift from 3:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., Monday through Thursday, with additional work available on Fridays. The role requires standing for extended periods, handling materials, and working around active machinery and standard shop equipment. The environment emphasizes safety, organization, and teamwork, with a focus on producing precision parts efficiently and consistently. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Baldwin, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
