Job Description

Position Overview The 2nd Shift CNC Mill Set-Up Machinist is responsible for setting up, operating, and supporting CNC milling equipment to maintain production output while ensuring all quality, safety, and customer requirements are met. This role supports stable, capable processes in alignment with
ISO/IATF
standards and CCT Enterprises' quality and continuous improvement philosophies. Monday - Thursday, 10 hour shifts. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Production & Quality Set up, operate, and tend CNC milling machines to meet production schedules and quality requirements. Read, interpret, and follow work instructions, setup sheets, job travelers, and JIM books as required by the Quality Management System. Accurately perform tool changes, tool touch-offs, offsets, and adjustments to maintain part quality and high Cpk. Perform safe process validation following any tool change, offset, or adjustment. Identify process trends and required adjustments using manual gauges and CMM reports. Accurately perform CMM validation of production parts. Consistently meet or exceed established production rates. Review job traveler rates and notify the programmer, lead man, or manufacturing engineer of any deviations or production-limiting issues. Accurately identify, segregate, tag, and report scrap or suspect material. Documentation & Systems Accurately maintain all JobBOSS entries, production documentation, and inspection records. Ensure all paperwork and electronic records are completed in compliance with
ISO/IATF
requirements. Training & Mentorship Mentor and train Entry Level and Level 1 CNC operators. Review JIM books and operator checklists with assigned programmers, lead men, or manufacturing engineers. Actively participate in all required company training. Continually pursue skill development through available resources, including internal personnel, machine manuals, and external education. Operational Flexibility Operate multiple machines as needed to support breaks or production flow. Work overtime as required to meet production goals and customer requirements. Education and Experience Requirements High school diploma or GED required. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to use precision measuring tools, including calipers, micrometers, and depth micrometers. Ability to read and understand English. Ability to independently perform CNC mill setups on established production jobs Ability to perform tool offsets and tool changes Ability to read blueprints and inspect parts Ability to troubleshoot basic machining issues independently What this role is
NOT:
a button-pusher/operator-only position a CNC programming position an entry-level machining role The ideal candidate can: complete setups without constant supervision read setup documentation and blueprints confidently make offset adjustments independently identify tooling or quality issues before scrap occurs support production in a fast-paced environment Physical Requirements Ability to stand for up to 8 hours per shift. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Good manual dexterity. Ability to visually distinguish small details to ensure quality output. Ability to remain focused for extended periods during repetitive tasks.
