CNC/Manual Metal-working Machinist

Vertex is looking for a career-oriented metal working machinist technician that is highly motivated, flexible, and a hardworking self-starter. This is a challenging position which requires excellent critical thinking, troubleshooting, and decision making skills. Applicant must be able to work extended hours, including weekends when needed. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Adhere to all company policies Follow all safety requirements for materials and equipment Maintain quality, yields, productivity, and efficiency Meet deadlines and customer deliveries Ability to follow instruction Perform duties to established standards Assist in developing processes Document procedures Escalate procedural issues as needed Maintain a clean and organized work environment Perform all other tasks, written or verbal, as requested Required attributes: Team player Reliable Personally accountable Open-minded, positive attitude Eager Attentive to detail Ability to multitask Courteous and helpful to others Technical requirements: Minimum of 5 years experience working in a machine shop environment Must be familiar with manual mill and lathe Familiarity with CNC machines a plus Familiarity with Mastercam software a plus Familiarity with Microsoft Office Strong math skills Blueprint reading Understanding of Lean Manufacturing a plus Vertex's number one priority is to provide an enjoyable working environment and prosperity to the entire team.
