Code Compliance Inspector (Seasonal)

Job Summary Join our team as a Seasonal Code Compliance Inspector, where you will play a vital role in maintaining and improving the quality, safety, and appearance of the community through proactive code enforcement and property inspections. This seasonal part-time position, anticipated to run from June through August, performs field inspections, investigates ordinance violations, and works with residents to promote compliance with City codes and regulations. Key Responsibilities Patrol neighborhoods to identify code violations, including blighted properties, sidewalk issues, unlicensed vehicles, and related concerns Conduct inspections and document findings through reports and daily activity logs Communicate with residents and property owners regarding ordinance compliance Assist with preparation of information related to administrative warrants Identify safety hazards and report concerns to appropriate personnel Maintain professional and positive interactions while representing the City Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED required Valid Missouri driver's license Additional Requirements Considerable outdoor work in varying weather conditions Ability to walk, stand, drive, and perform field inspections The City of Kirksville is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
