Job Description

Overview Santoni's Marketplace & Catering is seeking an experienced, culinary trained and motivated individual to join our team as a Full or Part time Cold Kitchen Prep Cook . He/she must have a genuine hospitality mind-set and a passion for teamwork. In this role you will prepare, and assemble all cold food items, salads & cold appetizers, offered in Santoni's Marketplace or for Catering events.
Responsibilities:
Follow prep lists created by chefs. Complete all tasks, in order, on the prep list from the Cold Kitchen Managing Chef or other kitchen manager Utilize knife skills and kitchen tools and equipment. Expedite; ensure that all orders are prepared correctly and prepared well. Washing, chopping, and sorting ingredients like fruits, vegetables, and meats Measuring quantities of seasonings and other cooking ingredients Adhere to all relevant nutrition and sanitary regulations and standards Keep track of ingredient inventory and collaborating with other kitchen and management staff to order resupply Ensure all food items are properly stored and easily accessible, by maintaining a clean, orderly, and sanitized kitchen Other related assignments as necessary.
Skills Knowledge & Abilities:
Previous experience in culinary arts, cooking, or other related fields Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the department including nights, weekends and holidays as required. (Sunday availability is required) Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment Demonstrates ability to utilize kitchen equipment according to departmental protocol. Ability to operate effectively and professionally under pressure. Self-motivated with a strong aptitude and desire to learn. Must demonstrate the ability to work with a team and to motivate others.
Education & Experience:
High School Diploma or its equivalent. 1-2 years Culinary/Retail food industry experience is preferred. Competitive benefits package for FT positions: Health/Vision/Dental, 401(k), paid vacation
