Bilingual Legal Collections Representative Location:

Chicago Loop - On-site - In office (not remote) Our established creditors' rights law firm, located in the heart of the Chicago Loop, is seeking a Bilingual Legal Collections Representative (Spanish/English) to join our dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Make outbound calls and receive inbound calls from consumers regarding delinquent accounts. Negotiate and establish payment arrangements in compliance with client and regulatory guidelines. Conduct skip tracing to locate consumers, employment information, assets, and ability to pay. Ensure compliance with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and client specific requirements. Manage files throughout the legal process—from Summons and Complaint through Judgment and Post-Judgment enforcement. Prepare files for legal escalation when necessary. Maintain a high level of professionalism, discretion, and integrity.

Qualifications:

Associate degree or equivalent relevant work experience. Minimum 2 years of customer service or collections experience (legal collections preferred). Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; strong computer and phone skills. In-depth understanding of the FDCPA and related regulatory compliance. Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and active listening skills. Detail-oriented with the ability to follow procedures and meet deadlines. Fluency in Spanish and English is required.
