  • Part-time About the Role Are you a patient, compassionate caregiver looking for meaningful 1-on-1 work in a calm, supportive environment?
We are seeking a dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide Community Habilitation support for a friendly 16-year-old young man with autism and ADHD. This position is a great fit for someone who enjoys working with teens, providing structure, and helping a young person build independence, confidence, and social skills at home and in the community. Pay & Benefits Pay Rate:
$22.00/hour
Mileage Reimbursement:
Mileage covered for community outings
Setting:
Home and community-based support Key Responsibilities As a 1:1 DSP, you will support independence, safety, and social development through:
Community Engagement:
Support outings, errands, and recreational activities while avoiding large crowds when possible.
Skill Building:
Help teach safety skills, including learning address and phone number, following directions, and navigating the community safely.
Social Development:
Support communication skills, appropriate social interactions, and opportunities to build friendships.
Daily Living Support:
Provide reminders and guidance with routines, hygiene, healthy habits, and age-appropriate independence.
Mentorship:
Encourage confidence, participation, and engagement in interests such as music, art, and community activities. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Valid NYS Driver's License and reliable transportation Ability to work independently and follow a structured support plan Patient, dependable, and compassionate personality Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate enjoys working with teens, is comfortable supporting individuals with autism and ADHD, and can provide calm guidance, structure, and positive reinforcement. This role is best suited for someone who prefers quieter environments and can help support successful community experiences without relying on busy or crowded settings.

From $22.00 per hour
