Job Summary GenServe is seeking a motivated and mechanically inclined Generator Technician 1 to join our growing team. In this entry-level role, you'll assist experienced Gen Techs with the service, inspection, and maintenance of emergency backup generators and associated equipment for a variety of commercial, and industrial units. This position is ideal for candidates to work independently on residential units and are eager to build a career in the power generation industry through hands-on experience and industry training. Key Responsibilities Assist with routine maintenance and minor repairs of diesel, natural gas, and propane standby generators. Perform oil and filter changes, coolant checks, battery testing, and fuel system inspections. Support diagnostic and troubleshooting efforts on electrical and mechanical generator systems. Help load and unload parts and tools for service calls. Keep service trucks and work areas clean, organized, and stocked. Complete required service documentation accurately and promptly. Follow GenServe's safety guidelines, procedures, and customer site rules at all times. Attend internal training sessions to enhance technical skills and product knowledge. Participate in a rotating on-call schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to respond to emergency service requests and ensure timely resolution of customer issues. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Technical training in diesel engines, small engines, generators, or electrical systems is a must or prior experience. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Basic knowledge of power generation equipment or willingness to learn. Physically able to lift 50+ lbs and work in field/outdoor conditions. Skills and Competencies Eagerness to learn generator systems and industry best practices. Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and power tools. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
