Job Description
Job Requirements The Indirect Commodity Manager is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies for indirect spend categories that support manufacturing operations, such as facilities, IT, MRO, professional services, logistics, and capital equipment. This role drives cost savings, supplier performance, and risk mitigation while ensuring that indirect goods and services meet business requirements. The Indirect Commodity Manager partners with stakeholders across the organization to manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and deliver long-term value to the company. Responsibilities Develop and implement category strategies for indirect commodities to optimize cost, quality, and service. Lead sourcing initiatives, including supplier identification, RFPs, contract negotiations, and supplier selection. Manage supplier relationships to ensure alignment with business needs, performance expectations, and compliance requirements. Partner with internal stakeholders (operations, engineering, finance, IT, HR, and facilities) to understand requirements and drive procurement solutions. Analyze market trends, cost drivers, and supply base dynamics to proactively identify sourcing opportunities. Ensure supplier diversity, risk management, and sustainability practices are integrated into sourcing strategies. Drive total cost of ownership (TCO) improvements through negotiation, process efficiency, and value engineering. Monitor and track performance against savings, quality, and service metrics. Support audits, compliance reviews, and contract management activities. Lead continuous improvement initiatives within indirect procurement processes. Work Experience Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field required; Master's degree or
CPSM/CPIM
certification preferred. 5+ years of procurement, sourcing, or supply chain experience, with a focus on indirect commodities. Strong negotiation and contract management skills. Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and e-sourcing tools. Experience managing a diverse supplier base and multiple categories simultaneously. Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Proven ability to deliver cost savings and process improvements.
