POSITION SUMMARY
Studies the patterns, causes, and effects of health and disease conditions in defined populations. Informs policy decisions and evidence-based practice by identifying risk factors for disease and makes recommendations for preventive health care. Implements and administers the health district's local Medical Reserve Corps site and facilitates the district's internship program.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Assist in the education of healthcare workers, patients, volunteers and the public about infectious and communicable diseases, including disease transmission and prevention. Utilize appropriate methods for interacting effectively and professionally with people of all ages and from diverse cultural, socioeconomic, educational, racial and ethnic backgrounds, sexual orientations, lifestyles and physical abilities. Administer operational activities of local Medical Reserve Corps following state and national guidelines and grant Responsible for volunteer recruitment, retention, and training. Assist in budget preparation and the purchase of equipment and supplies. Use systems and databases to conduct trend analysis, identify clusters and qualitative and quantitative Conduct research to develop methodologies, Instrumentation and procedures for medical application, analyzing data and presenting findings. Use quality improvement (QI) and performance management (PM) processes and/or techniques to improve the effectiveness of environmental health programs and services including but not limited to creating, implementing, and evaluating performance standards and identifying, implementing, and assessing QI processes. Responsibilities include other duties as assigned including but not limited to Accreditation requirements and responding to emergency events.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or technical school)Required, Field of Study:
Biostatistics/Statistics, Epidemiology or Public Health Master's Degree Preferred, Field of Study:
Public Health Experience:
Bachelor's degree with four (4) year's experience conducting data analysis and reporting or Master's degree in public health and one (1) year experience conducting data analysis and reporting.Computer Skills:
Microsoft Office required. Familiarity with statistical and mapping software preferred.License & Certifications:
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.Other Requirements:
