Job Description

Newport Church is seeking a Community Life Pastor who is deeply committed to building a healthy, thriving church community. This role is for someone who genuinely loves people, enjoys building community, and is passionate about seeing individuals experience the loving and transforming power of God in their lives. They should be energized by leading teams that help people move from simply attending church to fully belonging, growing, flourishing, and being sent out to live fully into their God-given calling. The ideal candidate is a devoted follower of Jesus who is filled with the Holy Spirit and deeply committed to the life and mission of the local church. They should thrive in team-based environments and bring emotional intelligence, pastoral wisdom, and a steady, trustworthy presence that helps people feel safe and cared for. They have a genuine passion for developing leaders, enjoy training others for ministry, and are energized by building, equipping, and working alongside volunteer teams and leaders. Key qualities we're looking for: A heart for cultivating authentic community around the presence of God A clear commitment to Newport's Vision, Values, Beliefs, and Culture Pastoral sensitivity and a willingness to walk with people through real-life challenges A collaborative leader who is strong in relational and team-oriented leadership A passion for equipping and empowering others to live out their calling A deep commitment to the mission of the local church An enjoyment of working with volunteers and leading teams
