Job Description
Job Overview M&A Executive Search has been retained to recruit a Community Manager for a fast-growing, multifamily housing organization with 1,000 units. As the organization grows, the Community Manager plays a critical frontline leadership role in ensuring each property operates with strong resident engagement, financial discipline, operational consistency, and values-based service. This position represents an opportunity for a motivated, community-oriented leader to step into a visible, hands-on role that directly impacts resident experience, occupancy stability, and property performance. We are open to candidates who bring transferable community leadership, service operations, or business management experience—even if they have not previously worked in real estate. The organization values strong relationship builders with sound business judgment who understand recurring revenue models, operational accountability, and customer experience.
Responsibilities:
Community Engagement & Relationship Management Serve as the primary point of contact for residents and community stakeholders. Foster a welcoming, responsive, and supportive living environment. Address resident inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner. Plan or support community-building initiatives that enhance engagement and retention. Leasing, Occupancy & Retention Oversight Support leasing efforts to maintain strong occupancy levels. Oversee renewals, lease documentation, and move-in/move-out coordination. Ensure compliance with fair housing guidelines and company standards. Contribute to marketing and retention strategies that promote long-term stability. Revenue Management & Financial Accountability Oversee rent collection, billing processes, and delinquency follow-up. Partner with the Controller on reporting, payment plans, and financial oversight. Maintain awareness of property-level financial performance and recurring revenue stability. Ensure accurate documentation and recordkeeping. Property Operations & Compliance Coordination Partner with maintenance and facilities teams to ensure timely service completion. Monitor overall property condition and uphold safety and cleanliness standards. Maintain accurate resident files and compliance documentation. Support local, state, and federal regulatory adherence as applicable. Resident Support & External Resource Coordination Build relationships with rental assistance agencies and local support organizations. Serve as liaison with housing support programs when applicable. Assist residents in understanding available resources and structured support programs.Key Competencies Required:
Community Engagement & Relationship Management - Ability to build and maintain positive relationships within a defined community or customer base. Experience serving as a primary point of contact, addressing concerns, fostering engagement, and strengthening overall satisfaction Demand Generation, Retention & Customer Lifecycle Awareness - Experience supporting participation, occupancy, membership, enrollment, or customer retention within a business or service-oriented setting. Demonstrates understanding of customer experience and the importance of recurring revenue stability. Financial Stewardship & Revenue Accountability - Ability to manage or support billing, collections, budgeting, or revenue-related processes. Demonstrates sound business judgment and understanding of how operational decisions affect financial performance. Operational Execution & Regulatory Awareness - Experience supporting day-to-day operations in a structured environment, ensuring quality standards, documentation accuracy, policy adherence, and timely issue resolution. Resource Coordination & External Partnership Management - Ability to collaborate with external partners, agencies, vendors, or service organizations to support individuals within a community and ensure coordinated outcomes.OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Experience with recurring revenue models, billing processes, or operational oversight is valued. Familiarity with Yardi or similar property management/CRM software preferred but not required. Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills required.Job Type:
