84 Hourly Position Type Per Diem Job Shift Any Education Level High School Completion or Equivalent Category Direct Service Apply Description Help children build confidence, connection, and independence in their communities. Community Skills Support Providers work directly with children and youth to help them build meaningful connections and develop skills that support emotional growth, independence, and overall well-being. By offering individualized, relationship-based support in real-world community settings, you help children practice coping strategies, social skills, and problem-solving in ways that feel relevant and empowering. This role supplements existing mental health and developmental services and plays an important part in helping children translate treatment goals into everyday success. Duties and Responsibilities Provide one-on-one, community-based support to children and youth up to age 22. Support individuals in working toward treatment goals through structured, skill-building activities in community settings. Maintain active supervision while establishing clear, consistent boundaries. Build trusting, supportive relationships that promote engagement and progress. Encourage participation in positive community activities that align with individual interests and strengths. Reinforce coping strategies and social skills introduced through other services. Communicate regularly with supervisors and team members regarding progress and concerns. Complete required documentation accurately and within established timeframes. Qualifications Education Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required. Relevant experience working with children or youth in community, educational, or human services settings preferred. Knowledge and Competencies Strong communication skills and the ability to engage positively with children, youth, and families. Compassionate, patient, and understanding approach when supporting people with diverse needs. Flexibility and adaptability when responding to changing situations and individual goals. Ability to establish and maintain clear, consistent boundaries in community-based settings. Strengths-based mindset that supports skill development and positive community engagement. Ability to provide active supervision while fostering independence. Basic understanding of behavioral, emotional, or developmental challenges preferred. Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and access to a safe, reliable vehicle.
