In the 25 years since, Foley Family Wines & Spirits has grown into one of the world's largest producers of fine wine, adding some of the industry's most valuable wineries, located in the most recognized winemaking regions, including Napa, Sonoma, the Pacific Northwest, and New Zealand. Today, the Foley Family Wines & Spirits portfolio boasts a number of the most-celebrated names in wine, including Chalk Hill Estate, Chalone, Ferrari-Carano, and Sebastiani. Job Summary Foley Family Wines has an immediate opening for a full-time Compliance Specialist at the Corporate Office located in Santa Rosa, CA. The ideal candidate will have attention to detail, organizational excellence, work within tight deadlines in a fast-paced department and be a team player. These are some of the essential skills needed to drive continuous improvement to the business and succeed in this position. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The following reflects management's definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other business needs.
  • Preparation, submission and tracking of regulatory filings and reports to include Federal and state filings for production and sales.
  • Preparation, calculation and filing of Excise & Sales tax for various jurisdictions.

  • Assist with preparing and submission of alcohol beverage licenses. Including updates of corporate/owner information and obtaining new and/or canceling licenses as deemed necessary.
  • Assist with the maintenance and update of standard regulatory compliance software systems used for license, product, brand/label registrations and order fulfillment.
  • Assist with market ready compliance to include brand/product registration, distributor appointment/termination, control state codes and territory agreements.
  • Assist with new reports, amendments, Fictitious Business Statements and TTB COLA/Formula applications for multiple locations and entities.
  • Administrative duties to include filing, scanning, electronic file management, expense report reconciliation and email correspondence.
  • Assist with department projects that may include acquisitions, exclusive agency agreements and other company initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned. Required Knowledge, Skills & Other Abilities
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; attention to detail and responsiveness
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Thrive in a deadline driven, fast paced team environment.

  • Ability to follow through on projects with minimal supervision.
  • Interact professionally and collaboratively with team members, other departments and outside regulatory agencies.
  • Strong Excel knowledge and the ability to analyze data and prepare spreadsheets for reporting and other compliance functions. Education & Experience
  • 3-5 years of alcohol beverage compliance experience
  • experience in spirits highly desired
  • High school graduate, some college desirable
  • Proficient with MS Office Products.
  • Experience with industry and ERP systems: ShipCompliant, eCompli (Avalara) and NAV.
  • Notary Public Commission or ability to obtain.
Pay Scale:
The base pay range offered for this position is $31.00
  • $34.
00 per hour. This range is what we reasonably expect to pay for this role. The actual compensation offered will be based on several factors, including but not limited to, qualifications, skills, experience, education, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
