Batch Plant Operator

REPORTS TO

PLANT MANAGER Responsibilities:

Responsible for processing and handling orders Ensure proper directions are acquired from customer and relayed to driver Ensure that drivers are in line to be loaded in the proper order Ensure quality of mixes and report quality control problems to Plant Manager or Assistant Plant Manager (if Plant Manager not available) Responsible for maintaining customer relationships (including quality customer service and proper handling of customer complaints) Correspond with office concerning proper customer account numbers Report driver and/or customer related problems to Plant Manager or Assistant Plant Manager (if Plant Manager not available) Maintain cement and flyash inventory Responsible for keeping bins topped off and materials pushed up in the pits when necessary Inspect plant every day and report problems to Plant Manager Notify Plant Manager or Assistant Plant Manager (if Plant Manager not available) immediately of any vehicle accidents, safety violations, or job-related injuries Maintain appearance of batch office Other duties as assigned by Plant Manager or Assistant Plant Manager Requirements / Qualifications Prior experience in concrete batching, ready-mix, construction, or a related industrial field preferred (not required) Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot or recognize equipment issues Basic computer skills required (ability to learn and operate computerized batching systems) Strong customer service and communication skills required Strong attention to detail and ability to follow mix specifications accurately Prior leadership or supervisory experience is a plus Basic math and problem-solving skills Reliable attendance and strong work ethic Ability to work early mornings, extended shifts, and overtime
