Concrete Mixer Driver

Since 1900, Bichler Concrete & Gravel has been a leading supplier of concrete and aggregate product in Escanaba, MI and the surrounding areas. Aggregate from Bichler's quarry was used to construct many of the foundations of historic Escanaba buildings, and with three locations, we are proud to now be serving all of central upper Michigan! We are seeking full-time seasonal Concrete Mixer Drivers to enhance our team for the eventful summer months at our Munising, MI location.

Job Summary:

• Full-time seasonal positions (typically start in May and work through November)
• 40+ hour work weeks
• Work schedule is Monday through Friday (7:00 AM ET to 5 PM ET) and Saturday (7 AM ET to 12:00 PM ET) as needed
• Overtime opportunities are frequently available
• Starting wage is $23.40 (pay is based on union contract)
• Paid time off

Job Duties:

• Safely operate equipment at all times including during loading, driving, unloading, and clean-up
• Check and adjust loads to ensure product will be hauled in a safe and appropriate manner
• Adhere to all rules and regulations put forth by Bichler, the Department of Transportation (DOT), the Mine Safety & Health Administration (MSHA), and Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA)
• Verify directions to job sites and check details to ensure appropriate delivery
• Work as a member of a team
• Operate handheld radios to communicate with peers
• Work in numerous locations & environments with a variety of customers
• Maintain great customer service by striving to meet customer expectations and developing working relationships
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections of company equipment & report any necessary maintenance and repairs
• Maintain cleanliness in company equipment

Qualifications:

• Possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (Class B or A) and an up-to-date DOT Medical Card
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug screening after hire
• Must be able to follow safety procedures
• Ability to work with a team, communicate effectively, and adhere to instructions
• Be detail-orientated and have good time management
• Possess strong customer service skills
• Ability to lift, carry, and move 50+ pounds
