Job Description:
Position:
Heavy Civil Construction Foreman We are seeking a heavy civil construction Foreman who is willing and able to travel a minimum of four hours with overnight stays, Monday night through Thursday night, across New England and New York to supervise crew activities, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency on a variety of complex and unique projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the successful execution of assigned project tasks in accordance with plans, codes, and specifications while prioritizing safety, quality, and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Manage all aspects of on-site assigned project tasks, including scheduling, direction of work crews, equipment, subcontractors, materials, and procurement of necessary items. Construct projects in compliance with construction plans, codes, and specifications. Review and follow proposals, estimates, plans, specifications, and related documents. Maintain daily communication with Superintendent regarding job-specific needs, including workforce and equipment requirements. Enforce all applicable safety precautions and programs, ensuring adherence to OSHA requirements in the construction industry. Mentor, coach and train staff to ensure efficiency and improve capability and workforce readiness Monitor subcontractors to ensure compliance with safety policies and OSHA regulations. Uphold quality control standards and conduct daily job hazard analyses and logs, documenting field operations. Effectively communicate job progress to all team members and provide regular reports on job status. Oversee assigned project tasks from inception to completion, utilizing assigned laborers, equipment operators, subcontractors, and tradespeople. Adhere to construction schedules to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Conduct daily inspections of workers and evaluate their performance. Ensure a competent person is always on the job site. Attend training and offsite meetings as necessary. Manage material delivery status, order materials, and receive deliveries. Responsible for the performance management of site employees.
Requirements:
Five years of experience in construction leadership Positive leadership skills and crew management capabilities Excellent time management and organizational skills. Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities. Effective communication skills. Proficiency in the use of email and electronic communication Capability to review, understand, and interpret blueprints. Demonstrate general knowledge of heavy equipment operation, civil construction, pipelaying, and concrete work. Physical capability to work in various positions, including sitting, standing, kneeling, squatting, walking, and driving. Ability to lift, carry, or move objects weighing 50 pounds or more.
Travel and Additional Requirements:
Willing and able to travel a minimum of four hours with overnight stays, Monday night through Thursday night, across New England and New York OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 required.
