Job Title:
General Laborer - Construction Spotter Job Description This role supports a commercial construction crew by serving as a spotter, overseeing workers operating machinery, coordinating loading and moving of materials, and helping ensure all activities follow established safety standards. You will contribute to site logistics, assist with site cleanup, and support driver and machine operations to keep the project running safely and efficiently. Responsibilities Oversee and spot for workers operating lifts and other construction machinery to help maintain a safe work area. Monitor loading, unloading, and movement of materials to ensure safe and efficient handling. Guide and communicate with equipment operators and drivers to prevent hazards and maintain clear work zones. Support driver management by directing vehicle movement and helping coordinate site traffic flow. Assist with general site logistics, including staging materials and organizing work areas. Perform site cleanup tasks such as debris removal and general housekeeping to maintain a clean and safe job site. Adhere to and promote all safety standards and procedures while encouraging others to do the same. Support mechanical and construction activities as needed under the direction of site leadership. Perform heavy lifting and manual labor tasks required to support daily construction operations. Essential Skills Experience spotting for construction equipment and machinery in an active job site environment. Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding labor throughout the workday. Hands-on experience with site cleanup and maintaining orderly, hazard-free work areas. Experience in driver management, including directing and coordinating vehicle and equipment movement. Familiarity with commercial construction environments and basic construction practices. Understanding of and commitment to workplace safety standards and procedures. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with site logistics, including material staging and coordination. Exposure to machine operation or mechanical work on construction sites. Ability to communicate clearly with equipment operators, drivers, and crew members. Strong attention to detail when monitoring equipment movement and site conditions. Reliability and consistency in following instructions and completing assigned tasks. Why Work Here? Work Environment Work takes place on a commercial construction site in an outdoor setting. The role involves exposure to typical construction conditions, including varying weather, active machinery, and ongoing mechanical and construction activities. You will work around lifts, trucks, and other equipment while supporting site logistics, material movement, and cleanup tasks. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hampton, GA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
