Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic construction team as a Construction Laborer specializing in seawall and helical pier installation! This energetic role offers the opportunity to be at the forefront of vital shoreline protection projects, working with heavy equipment and skilled crews to build durable seawalls that safeguard communities. Duties Possible Duties Marine / General Construction Laborer Perform hands-on marine and general construction tasks including seawall installation, dock building, pile driving, and concrete work Assist in the construction of floating and fixed dock systems, piers, boat ramps, boardwalks, and observation decks Install vinyl sheet piling and concrete caps Perform hands-on helical pier installation and general construction tasks including: Load, unload and handle materials such as pilings, steel, lumber, and concrete Maintain a clean and safe job site while following all OSHA and company safety protocols Work in varying weather conditions on land and over water. On occasion in the water (setting vinyl sheet piles/water jetting). Heavy Equipment Operator / Pile Driver Operator Safely operate pile drivers, cranes, excavators, loaders, and other heavy equipment on marine and land-based projects Drive and vinyl and timber pilings for docks, seawalls, marinas, and infrastructure projects Conduct daily equipment inspections, basic maintenance, and minor repairs Follow project plans and engineer specifications to ensure accurate placement of pilings, sheet piles, caps, etc. Work closely with crew leaders to complete large-scale projects on time and within budget Adhere to all environmental regulations and best practices to minimize impact on Tampa Bay and surrounding waterways Complete required safety training and maintain an exceptional safety record Assist with project setup, teardown, and material transport using company vehicles and trailers.
Assist with the installation and construction of seawalls along coastlines or designated locations, ensuring structural integrity and safety standards are met. Operate heavy machinery including dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, dump trucks, and front loader trucks to move materials, excavate sites, and prepare foundations. Support site preparation activities such as utility locating to identify underground utilities before excavation begins. Load and unload construction materials efficiently using appropriate equipment while maintaining safety protocols. Follow detailed construction plans and instructions from supervisors to ensure precise placement of seawall components. Maintain a clean and organized worksite by removing debris, securing tools, and adhering to safety regulations throughout each phase of the project. Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues quickly and adapt to changing project needs in a fast-paced environment. Skills Ability to read and interpret construction plans and technical drawings accurately. Excellent teamwork skills with a proactive attitude toward learning new skills on-site. Physical stamina for long days of manual labor including lifting heavy materials and operating machinery safely.
