Construction Manager

Construction Manager We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to oversee field execution activities for an industrial facility project. This role requires a hands-on, multi-skilled professional capable of managing day-to-day construction operations while ensuring safety, schedule adherence, contractor accountability, and effective communication with project leadership. The Construction Manager will serve as the primary field representative responsible for monitoring contractor performance, tracking project progress against baseline schedules, identifying potential scope changes, and providing daily updates to the Project Manager. The ideal candidate must be comfortable working in active industrial environments and capable of coordinating across multiple disciplines to maintain project momentum and compliance with site requirements. Key Responsibilities Monitor and enforce site safety requirements and safe work practices Oversee daily construction activities and contractor performance Track actual progress versus baseline schedule and identify delays or risks Notify Project Management of any scope changes, schedule impacts, or field issues Coordinate closely with the owner's representative and project team on a daily basis Provide routine progress updates, status reports, and field observations Verify work quality and compliance with project specifications and standards Support schedule recovery efforts and field coordination as needed Assist in resolving field conflicts and maintaining project productivity Maintain strong communication between contractors, operations, and project stakeholders Qualifications Minimum 5+ years of industrial construction management or field supervision experience Strong understanding of industrial construction safety practices and procedures Experience working with contractors in refinery, chemical plant, manufacturing, or heavy industrial environments preferred Ability to read and interpret schedules, drawings, and project documentation Excellent communication and organizational skills Proficient in tracking project progress and reporting field conditions Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Work Schedule & Assignment Details Position is expected to average approximately 50 hours per week, with some periods requiring longer days and other periods closer to a standard 40-hour work week Assignment duration is currently open-ended Position will be compensated on a Time & Materials (T&M) basis plus travel and per diem Preferred Attributes Strong field presence with proactive problem-solving ability Detail-oriented with the ability to balance safety, schedule, and productivity priorities Collaborative approach to contractor and stakeholder management Ability to adapt to changing project conditions and priorities
