Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Staff Accountant to support daily accounting operations and ensure financial accuracy across the organization. This role plays a critical part in managing the month-end close process, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting timely reporting that drives informed business decisions. This is an onsite position working closely with leadership and cross-functional teams in a fast-paced construction environment. Key Responsibilities Core Accounting Functions Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation Record daily, weekly, and monthly financial transactions accurately and timely Export, compile, and import data into the ERP system to ensure accurate reporting Audit Accounts Payable invoices for accuracy, completeness, and proper job cost coding prior to posting Assist with preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports Maintain compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), tax regulations, and internal policies Support internal and external audits Construction & Operational Accounting Manage and support job costing processes to ensure accurate project financial tracking Monitor and analyze financial data to identify variances, trends, and opportunities for improvement Collaborate with operations, project managers, and leadership to resolve discrepancies and gather financial data Inventory & Process Support Maintain accurate inventory records, including setup and tracking within systems Verify purchase orders are properly allocated Coordinate and support inventory cycle counts and reconciliations Additional Responsibilities Support Accounts Payable and ensure timely invoice processing Assist with customer cash receipts and reconciliations Provide accurate and timely financial updates to internal stakeholders QualificationsRequired Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field 3+ years of accounting experience (construction industry preferred) Strong knowledge of job costing Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data imports/exports) Experience with construction accounting software such as: Sage 300, Viewpoint / Spectrum, Procore or similar Strong attention to detail, organization, and accountability Ability to research and resolve issues independently and meet deadlines Preferred Experience with multi-entity or joint venture accounting Experience with Viewpoint or Spectrum ERP systems Why Join Us?
