Traveling Electrical Superintendent Summary / Objective The Electrical Superintendent is the primary job site leader responsible for overseeing all field operations related to the installation, alteration, and repair of electrical systems on construction projects. This role manages projects, requiring coordination of multiple crews, subcontractors, and supervisors. This position offers the opportunity to lead complex electrical construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and to the highest quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with strong technical expertise, exceptional management skills, and a commitment to excellence in construction and electrical system integration. Lead and supervise all WYRE electrical construction activities on-site. Collaborate with Project Managers and General Superintendents to perform estimating, budgeting, and material take-offs. Plan, organize, and assign work to subordinate supervisors, foremen, and crews. Coordinate daily with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, general contractors, and clients to ensure seamless execution. Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and manpower (man-loading) charts using Trimble or similar construction management software. Ensure materials, tools, equipment, and labor resources are available and properly allocated. Oversee procurement of materials and subcontractors in alignment with project budgets. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to guide installation and ensure accuracy. Supervise installation of electrical systems including feeders, motors, generators, switchgear, panels, lighting, and associated systems. Monitor project progress, adjust schedules, and coordinate work with other trades to maintain productivity and timelines. Utilize construction management software such as ProCore, Bluebeam, and Trimble One for documentation, reporting, and communication. Manage contract administration including RFIs, submittals, and change orders. Conduct quality control inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards. Ensure all work complies with OSHA regulations and company safety policies. Lead jobsite safety initiatives including training, safety meetings, inspections, and incident investigations. Oversee administrative tasks such as daily reports, timesheets, safety documentation, and project correspondence. Evaluate project performance and implement corrective actions as needed to maintain quality, safety, and schedule adherence. Supervisory Responsibilities Directly supervise field personnel, foremen, and subordinate supervisors. Train, mentor, and evaluate employee performance. Plan, assign, and direct work activities across multiple crews and trades. Address employee concerns, resolve conflicts, and enforce company policies. Foster a collaborative, productive, and safety-focused work environment.Skills / Competencies
Strong leadership and team management abilities in fast-paced environments Extensive experience in electrical construction and site management Proficiency in construction management software (ProCore, Bluebeam, Trimble) Advanced knowledge of project scheduling, budgeting, and cost control Strong understanding of contracts, specifications, blueprints, and electrical codes (OSHA compliance) Skilled in construction estimating and cost evaluation Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Proven ability to manage multiple subcontractors and priorities simultaneously Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills High level of integrity, attention to detail, and professionalism Work Environment This position is performed primarily on active construction sites and includes exposure to: Outdoor weather conditions Loud noise levels Moving mechanical parts Fumes, airborne particles, and vibrations Physically demanding and potentially hazardous environments Physical Demands The role requires: Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and climbing for extended periods Lifting and moving materials over 50 pounds Visual acuity including close, distance, color, and depth perception Position Type / Expected Hours of Work Full-time position Minimum 40 hours per week Overtime and extended hours as required to meet project demands Travel Requirements Travel to multiple job sites required Out-of-area and overnight travel may be necessary Required Education and Experience High school diploma, GED, or equivalent Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Current Journeyman Electrician License Minimum 6 years of commercial/industrial electrical experience Minimum 2 years of experience in a Superintendent role Demonstrated experience managing complex construction projects Work Authorization Must be authorized to work in the United States.
