POSITION TITLE
Construction Trades FacultyREPORTS TO
Dean of AcademicsPOSITION SUMMARY
This position is a Full-Time 166 day faculty contract position with teaching responsibilities in construction trades to include residential renovation and new construction. Under the direction of the Dean of Academic Services, the instructor will teach 15 credits in the fall and spring semesters. The right individual must have experience in managing construction projects and demonstrate experience teaching others either on the job or in other venues. Chosen candidate will have direct experience in renovation and newconstruction, and be familiar with city and state building codes.RESPONSIBILITIES
Accept instructional assignments that may include day, evening, hybrid and online classes Teach a 15-credit hour load each semester Maintain currency in subject areas Instructor is expected to maintain regular office hours Assist in program development and other division tasks Serve as the faculty lead for the department Participate in scheduling, student advising, curriculum development, planning, and assessing program content Develop,monitor, and maintainthe department budget Lead the department in the recruitment and retention of students Provide oversight of student projects Provide mentorship to adjunct instructors Participate in college, community, and system wide activities (ie. strategic planning,accreditation work, grant-required activity, LCC Faculty Senate, Construction Trades Advisory Committee, Career Fair, and LCC Open Houses) Other duties as assignedREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Associate Degree in Construction Trades, Carpentry, or related field At least 4 years verifiable experience in construction trade If no degree, must have 8 years verifiable construction experience Able to obtain CTECredentialPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience instructing others within construction trades Background in construction management Proven leadership ability Knowledge of current and up-coming construction trade industry standardsSALARY RANGE
$52,000 - $57,000 Salary will be commensurate with education, experience, and market competitiveness, while maintaining internal equity.BENEFITS
