GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB
The Consulting Pharmacist functions in an oversight capacity for medication dispensing providers in QuadMed health and wellness centers. They conduct regular dispensing activity reviews and monitor inventory/formulary practices in adherence to state and federal regulatory requirements. In addition, this role provides staff and patient consultation to ensure safe, compliant and effective medication management.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Conducts weekly on-site clinic visits (up to 2 hours each) to oversee dispensing operations and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. Performs retrospective dispensing reviews using pharmacy workflow software and Epic. Completes monthly inventory assessments, including stock level adjustments and reconciliation. Conducts quarterly formulary reviews as needed to support clinical and operational optimization. Provide telephonic patient counseling as needed during health center hours, ensuring safe and appropriate medication use. Collaborates with health center staff to maintain high standards of patient care and medication management.JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy Doctor of Pharmacy Degree preferredExperience:
Experience with dispensing workflows, clinical documentation and regulatory compliance. Familiarity with Epic and MD Scripts pharmacy workflow software is a plus.Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Active, unrestricted Pharmacist license in the state of practice; multi-state licensure preferred. Current CPR (BLS) certification or must be obtained within 60 days of hire.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Excellent communication and patient counseling skills. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Comfortable with technology, pharmacy workflow systems and electronic health record systems. Proven ability to work effectively with diverse populations and a demonstrated commitment to fostering inclusion. Ability to interpret and apply state and federal pharmacy regulations to ensure compliant dispensing and inventory practices. Experience conducting dispensing, inventory, or compliance reviews and documenting findings and recommendations. Sound professional judgment with the ability to identify, prioritize, and escalate compliance or patient safety concerns as appropriate.
