Job Description

Full-Time Consumer Loan Officer Job Description Reports to:
Branch Manager FLSA Status:

May be required Summary This position is primarily responsible for providing excellent member service while accurately processing a high volume of lending activities. The Consumer Loan Officer must be able to analyze applicants' credit requests to determine if loans should be granted. This role will find opportunities to help our members by recommending products and services that meet their needs. The Consumer Loan Officer will respond to member inquiries, request loan and financial records, accurately process lending applications, and properly document lending decisions. We expect all staff to be guided by our mission, "Enhancing lives…one member at a time." Essential Functions and Responsibilities Ensure that each approved application meets the company's lending standards. The loan officer will approve loans within the limits of a pre-approved lending authority. Performs in depth loan interview and analyzes member financial condition to include credit history, credit score, collateral, ratios and other financial information to uncover financial solutions for submission to underwriters. Makes decisions within loan approval authority. Prepares loan documents for loan closing, explains terms and conditions or directs completion of loan documents to closing agents. Upon completion ensures documentation is complete and accurate. Explains loan denials or counter offers to members as needed. Maintain a knowledge of the direct and indirect lending market by obtaining and reviewing competitor program information as needed. Stays abreast of other financial services and products to better meet members' needs. Identifies opportunities to cross-sell new or additional services or products to members. Must be available to work all open hours
