Job Description

It's more than a job As a Contract Logistics Specialist at Kuehne+Nagel, you will manage end-to-end warehousing operations for our customers. By doing so with precision, you not only contribute to the success of your team, but also to the day-to-day operations and success in the warehouse and distribution centres. For example, storing and delivering delicate flowers and fresh ingredients to local stores for everyday lunches and family celebrations. Join our team as a Contract Logistics 1st Shift Maintenance Specialist at our aerospace site located in Union City, Georgia. In this important role, you will be responsible for managing building upkeep, repairing machinery, addressing plumbing and heating issues, handling electrical wiring tasks, conducting thorough safety inspections, and maintaining detailed and accurate maintenance records to ensure operational efficiency. You will work Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with a weekly payment rate of $25.00 per hour. How you create impact Duties and Responsibilities Execute a broad range of tasks to install and maintain all production machinery, plant facility equipment, and conveyor systems Perform emergency and unscheduled repairs on production equipment during both operational and non-operational hours Carry out fundamental machinist tasks and responsibilities with precision Perform mechanical skills encompassing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic systems, as well as troubleshooting and repairing production machinery Analyze and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to effectively execute necessary maintenance and service tasks Identify issues, replace or repair components, then test and fine-tune the system Conduct routine preventive maintenance on machinery, equipment, and plant facilities to ensure optimal performance and longevity Execute a range of plumbing maintenance and carpentry tasks with precision and expertise Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas Overseeing the scheduling and coordination of building and equipment maintenance activities Providing around-the-clock response to urgent maintenance requests Preparing for emergencies by creating building evacuation and other action plans Evaluating building security systems and advancing safety measures throughout the facility What we would like you to bring Desired Expertise and Competencies Requires a high school diploma or GED, completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent combination of education and production maintenance experience An Associate of Arts degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance is advantageous Over 4 years of manufacturing experience with a strong preference for candidates possessing mechanical and industrial skills Candidates should demonstrate strong motivation and the ability to work autonomously Candidates must successfully complete aerial platform training and demonstrate confidence working at heights Applicants must hold US citizenship What's in it for you There has never been a better time to work in logistics.
