Responsibilities The Controller is responsible for leading the Accounting and Purchasing functions while ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and effective financial planning across the property. Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger management, accounts payable/receivable, journal entries, and month-end close activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and company standards. Direct Purchasing operations, including review and approval of purchase orders and key financial transactions to ensure proper controls and alignment with budgetary guidelines. Manage treasury functions, including cash flow management, forecasting, capital planning, wire transfers, and check signing authority, while maintaining strong internal controls and liquidity. Lead preparation and delivery of financial reporting, including Profit & Loss statements, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements, as well as coordination of annual audits and tax processes. Own the annual budgeting process and multi-year capital planning, including monthly forecasting, variance analysis, and financial performance reporting to leadership. Present monthly business reviews with actionable insights to support strategic and operational decision-making. Provide leadership to the Accounting team, including hiring, training, coaching, performance management, and succession planning. Partner with departmental leaders to support financial accountability, operational efficiency, and timely receivables collection. Ensure compliance with internal policies, corporate standards, and regulatory requirements while safeguarding company assets. Qualifications
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
6-10 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance leadership roles, ideally within hospitality or multi-unit operations. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent experience required. Demonstrated experience managing full P&L responsibility and leading accounting operations. Strong understanding of financial principles, GAAP, and hospitality industry financial operations. Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and capital planning. Advanced accounting and analytical skills with strong attention to detail and data accuracy. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). Strong communication skills, with the ability to present financial insights to executive leadership. Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
