Job Description Job Summary:
Under the direction of the General Manager, the position is responsible for implementing and adhering to corporate financial accounting procedures and internal controls and directing the activities of the accounting and operations staff toward achieving division objectives. The position provides decision support through timely and accurate reporting driving insight and analysis . Work with plant management in developing ongoing business strategy for the facility.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Supervision of the General Accounting Department ensuring timely, accurate performance of accounting functions. Ensure corporate financial guidance is properly implemented and adhered to by all relevant stakeholders. Ensure the accuracy of our financial statements and the strength of our internal controls. Lead and assess the division's operating performance by preparing financial plans, monitor expenditures and performance against plan, perform analysis of variances and help establish action plans to meet financial performance objectives. Ensure adequate controls are being maintained and that the value of the company's assets is properly stated. Develop and implement management information systems providing timely and meaningful information for managers, which enable them to effectively manage their functional areas. Analyze sales, cost of sales, margins, scrap, overhead and ESMA spending. Analyze and develop inventory valuations, product costing, operation reports, and capital projects. Provide leadership to continuous improvement through employee development, process improvement and elimination of waste. Support the Director of Finance in the achievement of companywide functional objectives. Prepare government, division and corporate reports as required. Ability to communicate at multiple levels of the organization proficiently. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications / Training

Skill Requirements:
Manufacturing Accounting and Product Costing experience required. Five years of supervisory experience required. Seven years' experience in a variety/progression of accounting positions required. Internal audit training/experience. Self-starter with team orientation. Excellent communication skills. Experience with ERP systems.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required. MBA preferred. CMA or CPA preferred
Physical Demands:
Consistent with normal office work. Ability to attend Plant walks and conduct inventory counts

Familiar with company policies and demonstrates knowledge of relevant procedures and importance of producing quality products.
