At Ringgold County Hospital (RCH), every role contributes to something bigger—supporting quality care for our community. We're looking for a Controller who is detail-oriented, analytical, and ready to play a key role in the financial strength and sustainability of rural healthcare. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys both hands-on accounting work and collaborating on strategic financial initiatives. What You'll Do As Controller, you'll help ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial operations across the organization.

Key responsibilities include:

Preparing monthly journal entries and supporting the month-end close process Maintaining the General Ledger, ensuring accounts are reconciled accurately and on time Preparing and distributing monthly budget, labor, revenue, and usage reports to department leaders Overseeing Accounts Payable and Payroll functions Managing Fixed Assets, including capital asset entries and depreciation tracking Maintaining required reporting through Adaptive Insights (Mercy Health Network reporting) Assisting with annual budget preparation and tax asking Monitoring and tracking the 340B Program, including revenue, expenses, and cash collections Preparing audit work papers and supporting external audit processes Assisting with Medicare cost report documentation and related data requests Collecting, analyzing, and presenting financial data for special projects in collaboration with the CFO Submitting required data to external agencies and organizations Additional Responsibilities Participate in meetings and committees as needed Provide support with office phones or switchboard when necessary Perform other duties as assigned to support organizational needs What We're Looking For Strong accounting and financial reporting experience (healthcare experience preferred) Knowledge of general ledger, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation Experience with budgeting, audits, and regulatory reporting Ability to work independently while maintaining accuracy and accountability Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills Experience with healthcare programs like 340B and cost reporting is a plus College Degree in Accounting or Business Administration, or equivalent work related experience in general accounting, preferred. Computer Experience required. Basic math skills including calculating and monetary exchanges. Intermediate level of skill with spreadsheets required. Understands HIPAA regulations and privacy of patient and employee information.

Services provided by our 16-bed critical access hospital have expanded far beyond inpatient care. We now provide same-day outpatient surgeries, infusion therapy, cardiopulmonary rehab, physical therapy, sleep studies, medical imaging, and more. The hospital also owns and operates the Ringgold County Ambulance Service and the Mount Ayr Medical Clinic. We also regularly host specialty outpatient clinics, so our patients have access to the specialist care they need, when and where they need it. We are continually adding new services and equipment as resources permit, so we can continue to serve as your partner in health. Mount Ayr Medical Clinic is our rural health clinic located within Ringgold County Hospital. The current facilities were built in 2009 and features modern, large, and spacious. The physicians at Mount Ayr Medical Clinic treat patients of all ages between the hours of 7 am and 5 pm, Monday through Friday. The clinic also functions much like an urgent care facility, treating those without life-threatening symptoms but who require immediate medical attention. Community Mount Ayr is located near the Iowa - Missouri border and is the county seat of Ringgold County, Iowa. Surrounding communities include Diagonal, Kellerton, Tingley, Ellston, Beaconsfield, Redding, Delphos, Maloy, Sun Valley Lake, and Benton. Ringgold County is a popular destination for hunters and anyone who enjoys the outdoors. Local parks, museums, and lakes provide a wide range of recreational opportunities. In the Mount Ayr area, you can fish, boat, cross-country ski, run trails, and more.
