Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
Key financial leader responsible for overseeing an organization's accounting operations and ensuring the accuracy of financial records. Manage the preparation of financial reports, implement internal controls, and ensure compliance with Federal and State regulations, including the Sarbanes-Oxley standards.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS A
working knowledge of corporate accounting and financial management, including GAAP, SOX, and other regulatory requirements, at a level normally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree in accounting or related field or equivalent experience; and Five (5) years' experience in an accounting leadership role.KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
Knowledge of general accounting, auditing, payroll, and invoicing required. Strong analytical, organization, and project management skills, and ability to prioritize and complete multiple projects in a timely manner with limited supervision. Advanced knowledge and skills in the use of various Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Excellent interpersonal, coordination, and facilitation skills. Must be able to maintain the confidentiality of company and employee information. Sound judgment and problem-solving skills. Must be able to act with integrity and professionalism. Must have the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Excellent written and oral communication skills.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitor the financial operations of the company to ensure compliance with budgets and internal control processes. Manages assigned administrative, accounting & payroll staff. Conducts performance evaluations and wage reviews. Recommends training and development activities for assigned staff. Oversee the preparation of required Federal and State financial and payroll reports, as well as monthly and quarterly financial and related reports to the President and/or Corporate Executives. Assures that accounting records are prepared and maintained in accordance with the company's accounting policies, chart of accounts, and related accounting principles and practices, and that subordinate ledgers reconcile with the general ledger. Directs maintenance of fixed asset records and related depreciation accounts; provides interpretative assistance as to the proper capitalization/expensing of outlays and grouping of fixed assets by class, as well as depreciation methodology. Collaborates with management to develop schedules, procedures, and systems to enable the timely and informative accumulation, adjustment, and reporting of financial data. Prepare, reconcile, submit, and distribute W-2s and 1099s. Participate in strategic planning for the financial operations of the company. Functions as a management link between staff, internal auditors, external auditors, and corporate accounting. Performs other tasks and special projects as assigned.OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Requires travel: Minimal (up to 10%) including in-state and out-of-state by car and/or place with overnight stays.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Advanced degree or CPA preferred. Knowledge of the unique aspects of construction accounting preferred. Advanced knowledge of Viewpoint's Spectrum applications.COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Salary range: $160,000 - 190,000 annually. Medical, dental, vision, 401k with company match, and Life insurance. Paid time off.ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
