Job Description:
Leap Brands is recruiting for a Controller for a growing restaurant company looking for a strong finance leader who understands both accounting and operations. This is not a role for someone who just wants to close books and send reports. We are looking for someone who can build structure, improve processes, support operations, and help leadership actually understand the business behind the numbers. The ideal candidate understands the pace and complexity of the restaurant industry. Multiple locations, labor fluctuations, food cost pressure, inventory, margins, operational inconsistencies, and constant movement. This role will play a major part in helping the company scale responsibly while improving visibility and accountability across the organization. Responsibilities Oversee all accounting and financial reporting functions for the business Manage month-end close, financial statements, reconciliations, and reporting packages Ensure accuracy of P&Ls, balance sheets, cash flow, and operational reporting Partner closely with operations leadership to improve financial performance across locations Monitor labor, food cost, inventory controls, and operational KPIs Build and improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting infrastructure Oversee AP, AR, payroll, banking relationships, and cash management Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning Support audits, tax preparation, and external financial partnerships Identify operational and financial inefficiencies and help implement solutions Help leadership make better decisions through accurate and actionable reporting Qualifications Accounting or finance leadership experience within restaurants, hospitality, retail, or multi-unit environments Strong understanding of restaurant financials and unit-level economics Experience overseeing multi-location operations preferred Ability to operate in fast-paced, evolving environments Strong systems and process orientation Comfortable partnering directly with operations teams and executive leadership CPA preferred but not required Experience with restaurant POS and accounting systems strongly preferred
