Job Title:
Controls Engineer - Bosch Torque Systems Job Description This role focuses on programming, optimizing, and supporting Bosch torque wrench systems within a manufacturing and assembly environment. The Controls Engineer works hands-on on the production floor to improve torque application accuracy, process reliability, and assembly quality through optimized tool programming and close collaboration with production, quality, and engineering teams. Responsibilities Program, optimize, and maintain Bosch torque wrench and torque tool programs to support assembly operations and meet quality requirements. Troubleshoot and resolve torque tool issues related to accuracy, repeatability, communication, and process execution. Collaborate closely with manufacturing, quality, and engineering teams to enhance assembly line efficiency and support continuous improvement initiatives. Support both new and existing assembly equipment, including updating and maintaining legacy torque tool programs. Validate torque strategies, tightening sequences, and tool configurations to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and quality standards. Perform hands-on, line-side support within the assembly environment, including real-time troubleshooting and production support. Assist with commissioning and validation of torque tools during new line launches and equipment upgrades. Analyze torque data and tool performance metrics to identify optimization opportunities and reduce defects, rework, and downtime. Develop and maintain technical documentation such as tool programs, change logs, work instructions, and troubleshooting guides. Essential Skills Demonstrated experience programming Bosch torque wrenches and Bosch torque tools. Hands-on experience working in a manufacturing or assembly environment supporting production operations. Proficiency in torque wrench programming, including optimization of torque strategies and tightening sequences. Ability to troubleshoot torque tool issues related to accuracy, repeatability, communication, and process execution. Experience adjusting torque tool programming when specifications are off or require refinement. Strong skills in analyzing torque data and tool performance metrics to drive process optimization. Ability to develop, maintain, and interpret technical documentation such as tool programs, change logs, work instructions, and troubleshooting guides. Comfort working directly on the production floor, providing line-side support and resolving issues in real time. Effective collaboration skills to work closely with manufacturing, quality, and engineering teams. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with PLC programming in a manufacturing or assembly environment. Familiarity with continuous improvement practices in production settings Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Duncan, SC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $50.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
