Controls Engineer

Controls Engineer Job Overview The Controls Engineer will join a project team responsible for delivering automation solutions to customers across a range of manufacturing environments. This role focuses on the design, development, implementation, and documentation of control systems while working closely with customers and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and document control systems that meet customer and project requirements. Lead and contribute to project teams to ensure high‑quality technical deliverables. Communicate directly with customers, both on‑site and remotely, to present solutions and collaborate on system designs. Travel to customer sites to implement, commission, and test automation solutions. Collaborate with project managers, subject matter experts, and business leadership to assess project status and determine the most effective path to successful completion. Mentor and support fellow engineers by sharing control system concepts, best practices, and project methodologies. Manage projects through the full lifecycle, from concept and design through implementation and closeout. Education Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics Engineering, Bioengineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline. Required Skills & Experience Three or more years of experience working with control systems in manufacturing environments. Hands‑on experience configuring PLC, HMI, SCADA, DCS, and/or MES systems. Understanding of process control principles or related manufacturing processes. Proven ability to deliver projects to successful completion. Experience managing projects across the full lifecycle. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences. Proficiency with standard business software tools, including the Microsoft Office suite. Professional, positive, and collaborative work ethic. Flexible and cooperative working style, with a willingness to support project needs outside normal working hours when required. Valid driver's license. Ability to comply with employment‑ and customer‑mandated drug testing and background checks. Preferred Qualifications Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification.
