Operates commercial/standard kitchen equipment to:

cook foods, mix salads, make desserts, dressings & breads, prepare hot & cold beverages & special menu foods, slice meat & cheese, make sandwiches, assemble fruit plates & relish trays & clean & cut vegetables & meats before cooking & mixing Sets up food lines Portions food on serving lines Sets up trays & carts Packs food for delivery to dining areas & storage Cleans work area, equipment & utensils Why Work for the State of Ohio At the State of Ohio, we take care of the team that cares for Ohioans. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition, subtraction, multiplication & division AND 3 months' training or 3 months' experience in food preparation, sanitation & storage & use of food service equipment in institutional, school or restaurant setting. OR Equivalent of the Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.

UNUSUAL WORKING CONDITIONS

Exposed to varying temperatures (e.g., freezers; hot ovens) & sharp utensils; may work early or rotating shifts &/or weekends; may be exposed to hostile consumers, residents or youths &/or infectious diseases. Hourly wage will be paid at step 1, unless otherwise specified by collective bargaining agreement or rules outlined in the ORC/OAC. The final candidate selected for the position will be required to undergo a criminal background check. Rule 5123-2-02, "Background Investigations for Employment," outlines disqualifying offenses that will preclude an applicant from being employed by the Department of Developmental Disabilities. The final applicant selected for this position will be required to submit to urinalysis prior to the appointment to test for illegal drug use.
