Job Description

Do you enjoy cooking hearty meals and being part of a close-knit team where everyone knows your name? We re looking for a dependable, hard-working Cook to join our busy bar & grill in Northeast Nebraska! In this role, you ll prepare and cook a variety of menu items from burgers and steaks to daily specials while keeping quality, consistency, and speed top of mind. You ll work in a fast-paced kitchen where teamwork matters, helping with food prep, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and ensuring every plate that goes out meets our standards. Cooks are responsible for following recipes, handling food safely, and keeping the kitchen running smoothly during busy shifts. We re looking for someone who takes pride in their work, shows up ready to go, and can handle the rush while still having a good attitude. Experience is a plus, but we re willing to train the right person with a strong work ethic. Responsibilities for
Cook:
Prepare and cook menu items such as burgers, appetizers, sandwiches, steaks, and fried foods Set up and stock stations with necessary supplies (food, sauces, utensils, etc.) before service Operate kitchen equipment including grills, fryers, ovens, and flat tops safely and efficiently Ensure food is cooked to proper temperature, portioned correctly, and presented consistently Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area in compliance with health and safety regulations Follow proper food handling, storage, and rotation procedures (FIFO) Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and front-of-house team to ensure timely service Monitor inventory levels and notify management of shortages or needed supplies Assist with receiving and storing deliveries Handle multiple orders at once in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines Assist with opening and closing duties, including cleaning equipment and prepping for the next shift Requirements for
Cook:
Prior experience preferred Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices Dependable and punctual Ability to stand for long periods of time Strong time management and multitasking skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, especially during peak hours If you are a team player with a strong work ethic and a love for cooking, we want to hear from you!
