Rice Medical Center is seeking a dependable and team-oriented Hospital Cook to join our Dietary Department. This position prepares meals for patients, staff, and visitors while following food safety standards and therapeutic diet requirements. Responsibilities Prepare and cook meals according to recipes and diet requirements Maintain food quality, portion control, and sanitation standards Assist with tray line and meal service Operate kitchen equipment safely Clean and sanitize kitchen areas and equipment Follow HACCP, infection control, and food safety guidelines Assist with inventory and stocking as needed Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred Previous cooking or food service experience preferred Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Food Handler's Permit or ServSafe Certification required within 30 days of hire Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Weekend and holiday shifts may be required.
