Job Description
Job Summary Assists the cook in preparing and serving well-seasoned, attractive, appetizing meals to patients and employees, according to the established policies and procedures. Has an understanding of basic food preparation safety in food service work, personal hygiene, and infection control. Participates in maintaining the dietary department in a safe and sanitary manner. Maintains responsibility for own professional growth and development. Maintains a professional image within the hospital. Education/Experience Requirements High School diploma, GED, or job experience equivalent. Must be able to read, write, understand, and follow written and oral instructions given in English. A minimum of one year's experience in quantity food cookery is preferred. SafeServe Certification is preferred. Physical Requirements Work is performed while standing or walking. Will be required to exert considerable physical effort in moving or lifting supplies and/or food items.
