Job Summary The Marine Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and executing marine operations associated with LNG vessel transfers at the terminal. This role serves as the designated Person in Charge (PIC) for shoreside transfer operations and oversees activities across the full vessel port call, including pre-arrival planning, vessel interface, cargo transfer, and post-loading documentation. The Marine Coordinator works closely with internal teams, vessel crew, agents, pilots, and regulatory agencies to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient marine operations. Location/Travel Information This position is based at the Quintana Liquefaction Facility with travel to off-site locations as required. A valid, unexpired driver's license is required to perform essential job functions. Duties/Responsibilities- Serves as the designated Person in Charge (PIC) during ship loading operations, ensuring compliance with 33 CFR 127 requirements.
- Monitors LNG carrier loading operations to ensure safe and efficient marine activities, maintaining compliance with terminal-approved policies and procedures, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
- Coordinates the arrival, loading, and departure of LNG carriers with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Serves as the primary ship-shore interface with the vessel Master and crew, ensuring clear communication and alignment throughout all phases of cargo operations.
- Executes and verifies critical transfer activities, including ESD testing, Declarations of Inspection (DOI), and pre-transfer safety requirements in accordance with regulatory and terminal standards.
- Assists with daily LNG carrier loading operations, including berthing and unberthing, gangway deployment, communication cable connections, pre- and post-transfer meetings, and ramp-up and ramp-down activities.
- Issues Permits to Work (PTW) for ship-related activities and ensures compliance with permit requirements.
- Serves as a designated Alternate Facility Security Officer (AFSO) for the Liquefaction Facility, executing Declarations of Security (DoS) in alignment with current facility security posture and applicable U.S. Coast Guard MARSEC levels.
- Monitors custody transfer activities with a high level of accuracy and accountability, ensuring opening and closing processes are conducted in accordance with industry best practices, LNG procedures, and applicable contractual requirements, and performs post-loading cargo calculations.
- Prepares all terminal documentation upon completion of loading, including the Master Receipt of Documents, Certificate of Quality, Certificate of Quantity, and Terminal Statement of Facts.
- Promotes safety and environmental compliance by adhering to and supporting all applicable policies and procedures at all times.

- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
- 1-3 years of experience in marine operations or related industry.
Preferred:
- Associate degree or higher
- 3+ years of experience supporting terminal marine operations
- Practical knowledge of LNG or cryogenic hydrocarbon transportation
- Working knowledge of U.S. Coast Guard regulations and marine transfer operations Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
- Strong commitment to safety and operational discipline
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications HSE Roles and Responsibilities Supports and adheres to the Freeport LNG Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Management System, actively participating in its programs and initiatives.
- Works a 12-hour rotating shift schedule providing 24-hour coverage
- Regularly required to stand, walk, climb, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Must be able to board vessels via gangway or ladder and climb vertical ladders up to 40 feet
- Ability to lift and move up to 30 pounds
- Exposure to the marine environment, noise, and process conditions
- Must meet all regulatory and company medical, drug, and alcohol requirements Work Authorization/Security Clearance (if applicable)
- Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC), or the ability to obtain before the first day of employment
